Mobile Phone systems for Couriers & Delivery Drivers

YOUR OFFICE IS A VAN
DOING 56 ON THE A-ROAD

Couriers live on the road. New job offers, customers chasing ETAs, depots with a problem — it all comes in by phone, while you're driving.

ONSIM gives couriers a business landline number on the mobile you already carry, all natively ON-A-SIM. Calls come through your van's Bluetooth like any normal call — no app that needs data, no VoIP that drops out between towns.

Stay reachable all day, keep your personal number private, and look like a proper courier firm to the customers who book you.

Deliveries run on phone calls

Tailored Phone Solutions for Couriers

Key Features Built for Your Business:

A business phone system that lives in the cab with you. No apps, no Wi-Fi dependency, no office — just a professional number that works everywhere your rounds take you.

Hands-Free, Like a Normal Call

Because ONSIM works natively on the SIM, calls to your business number ring through your vehicle's Bluetooth exactly like any mobile call. Answer legally and safely from the driver's seat — no app to open, ever.

Reliable Where Apps Aren't

VoIP apps need a solid data connection — bad news in rural drops, loading bays and motorway dead spots. ONSIM calls run over the mobile voice network, so if you have signal, your business line works.

Business Number, Personal Number Kept Apart

Give customers, depots and courier exchanges a business landline number and keep your personal mobile out of circulation. One phone in the cab, two clearly separate lives.

Smart Handling While You Drive

Long stint with no safe place to talk? Divert to whoever runs your bookings, send calls to voicemail, or ring another driver via a hunt group so the work still gets picked up.

Proof You Made the Call

ONSIM gives you real-time call logs that include attempted calls — outbound calls that rang but were never answered. Most mobile networks don't log these at all, so when a delivery is disputed you have a timestamped record that your driver tried to reach the customer.

"Did the driver actually try to call?"

Anyone who has delivered high-value items knows this fight. The driver arrives with a washing machine, calls the number on the delivery note, gets no answer, and moves on. The customer swears no one ever rang. Now there's a re-delivery cost, a complaint, and no way to prove who's right — because most mobile networks don't record an outbound call attempt that nobody answered. It never appears on any log or bill.

We've heard how far carriers go to work around this. One person we spoke to, who had worked at one of the big parcel carriers, told us they recorded every driver mobile call at enormous expense — then threw the recordings away — purely because a recording was the only evidence their network gave them that an unanswered call attempt had ever happened.

On ONSIM you get that evidence for free. Our real-time call logs include attempted calls: a timestamped record of every outbound call your drivers make, answered or not, visible in your dashboard the moment it happens and available over our API if you want it in your own delivery system. No recordings to store, no dispute to lose.

Why don't other mobile networks show attempted calls?

Because their records exist to bill you, not to inform you. What a traditional network gives you is built from CDRs — call detail records — and a CDR is generated when there's something to charge for. An outbound call that rings and is never answered doesn't connect, doesn't cost anything, and so never becomes a billable record. In the network's view, an event they can't bill for isn't your data — it simply doesn't exist on anything they'll show you. ONSIM was built the other way round: the network is yours to see, so we log every call event in real time — connected or not — because it's your business that made the call. We've written up the full story: why your mobile network won't tell you about calls that didn't connect.

Still have doubts?

Can I take business calls hands-free while driving?

Yes — and this is where ONSIM differs from app-based systems. With a Landline SIM your business number is native on the SIM, so calls ring through your vehicle's Bluetooth like any ordinary mobile call and you answer from the steering-wheel controls. Always follow the law on hands-free use, and pull over when you need to write anything down.

I drive through rural areas with poor data. Will this still work?

That's exactly the problem ONSIM avoids. VoIP apps carry calls over the internet, so they suffer wherever mobile data is thin. ONSIM calls run over the mobile voice network natively — no data connection required for calls. If your phone can make a normal call, your business line is working.

Why would a courier want a landline number at all?

Two reasons. Separation: customers, depots and exchange contacts get the business number while your personal 07 stays private — and you can see which is which before you answer. Credibility: a landline number on your website and invoices reads as an established courier company, which matters when businesses choose who carries their goods. Choose an area code from our local numbers range.

Can I prove a driver tried to call a customer before a failed delivery?

Yes. ONSIM's real-time call logs include attempted calls — outbound calls that rang unanswered — with a timestamp against the number dialled. Most mobile networks never log unanswered outbound attempts, which is why "you never called me" disputes are usually unwinnable. With ONSIM the evidence is in your dashboard the moment the driver hangs up, and available via our API if you want it against the job in your own delivery system.

What happens to calls when I'm loading, on a handover or off shift?

Route them wherever makes sense: voicemail for callbacks, a divert to whoever books your jobs, or — with 2+ drivers on Landline SIM — a hunt group that rings other drivers in turn so the booking lands with someone who can take it.

We're a small fleet — can all drivers share one business number?

Yes. Each driver gets a Landline SIM (physical or eSIM) in their own phone. Inbound calls to the company number can ring drivers simultaneously or in sequence, and every driver shows the company number when calling customers about a delivery. One hunt group is included on accounts with 2+ users.

Does the SIM include data for sat-nav and delivery apps?

UK data bundles are available on the Landline SIM: 2GB (£2), 4GB (£4), 10GB (£6), 20GB (£8) or 40GB (£10) per month on top of the £10/user base plan — enough to run navigation and delivery apps on the same SIM as your business line.

Can I start cheap and upgrade later?

Yes. A Virtual Landline at £5/month + VAT forwards calls on your business number to your existing mobile — no SIM change at all. When you want outbound calls to show the business number too, upgrade to the Landline SIM at £10/user/month + VAT without changing the number. Both are monthly rolling.

Can I keep my existing number if I already have one?

Yes — port your existing landline or mobile number to ONSIM so regular customers and courier exchanges keep reaching you on the number they know. Porting typically completes in 10–14 working days and the port-in fee is covered.
